A movement born of independence, built for every Papua New Guinean.
Founded in 1979 by the late Sir Iambakey Okuk, the People's National Congress Party has helped shape modern Papua New Guinea through five decades of public service.
Our Vision
A united, sovereign, prosperous Papua New Guinea where every citizen — regardless of province, language or background — shares in the wealth of the nation.
Our Mission
To deliver inclusive growth, dignified public services and accountable government to the eight million people of Papua New Guinea.
Our Values
Unity. Integrity. Service. Sovereignty. Respect for traditional culture combined with a forward-looking national ambition.
A people's party, in every province.
The People's National Congress Party (PNC) is one of Papua New Guinea's most established political movements. From its founding in 1979 through its most influential decade in government from 2011 to 2019 under Hon. Peter O'Neill, PNC has championed national infrastructure, the SOE reform agenda, the Tuition Fee Free education policy and PNG's hosting of APEC 2018.
Today, PNC is in renewal — listening to citizens, rebuilding our branches, and preparing a fresh generation of leaders for the 2027 National General Election.
